Meet the Instructors

Maya Lapping Rivera

Maya Lapping Rivera leads artistic programming and instruction at Feather Press Studio. Maya is passionate about the Earth we share and consciously brings environmental care into the creative practice, using many recycled and donated materials in the studio. Maya finds inspiration and hope in bridging visual arts with giving young artists tools and techniques to follow their individual creative pursuits. Maya is continuously inspired by Feather Press Studio artists’ creativity, curiosity, and generosity, cultivating a very special community at Feather Press.

Maya has been immersed in the world of visual arts since childhood, and believes in all forms of art as essential education – across individual and social development, communication, self-actualization, and empowerment. Maya’s favorite artistic mediums include photography, fiber arts, printmaking, painting, and design. She has taught visual and performing arts throughout the Pioneer Valley since graduating from Smith College in 2016.
